What Malam Sama Opah is

Malam Sama Opah is a Roblox horror game from Sabun Studios, a Malaysian setting built around one house. The title is Malay for "a night with grandma": Opah means grandmother, and the house belongs to the grandmother from the Upin & Ipin cartoon, a connection the Indonesian-language video descriptions spell out. Your job is to get out before she finds you.

The game went up on October 20, 2026, and a server holds up to 25 players. It is filed here as a survival and escape game. Its icon and thumbnails read "Malam Sama Nenek" instead, since nenek is another Malay word for grandma, so you will see both names on YouTube and in the game's own title card. Most of the text in the game is in Malay, with some lines repeated in English.

How a run looks in the footage

Both videos we pulled frames from are Indonesian-language playthroughs, so the on-screen text is Malay. A run starts with a title card, MALAM SAMA NENEK in red lettering behind crossed wooden planks, and a tip line underneath in Malay with an English translation: find the keys and the door code, and get out before Opah finds you.

In the footage the top-left HUD then shows a row of three hearts, a small difficulty tag that reads Easy, and an objective box. The objective says "Cari 5 kunci, satu kod dan larikan diri dari rumah Opah", which means find 5 keys, one code, and run away from Opah's house. The game lets you pick Easy or Susah (Hard) before you start.

The house itself has green plank walls, red wooden floors, metal beds, wardrobes and a round table in the bedrooms, and a bright tiled kitchen with wooden cabinets. On screen you can see a green key being carried through one of the bedrooms. In another clip the player is in a hiding spot and Opah's face appears in a narrow gap, with a Press E or Click to leave prompt at the bottom of the screen.

The first-person view also opens on a dusk road with a bus coming toward you and a place-name caption in the corner, which looks like the scene-setting intro before you enter the house. Later footage shows a night scene with the prompt "RUN! GET ON THE BIKE!" and a motorbike parked beside a street lamp, so the run seems to end outside the house, though we only saw short clips of it.

Lives, dying and the death screen

Dying in the footage ends in a black and red screen that reads YOU DIED, followed by the line "Don't run in Opah's house." Under it are three grey hearts and the words OUT OF LIVES, plus a smaller note that you will watch the others from here. That fits the three hearts shown in the HUD during a run.

The message hints that running is a mistake in this house, but the footage does not show the exact rule, so we treat it as a hint rather than a confirmed mechanic. One clip also shows the HUD at two of three hearts while the player hides from Opah.

Lobby, money and classes

Outside a run there is a lobby with a menu of buttons for the shop, classes, items and a claim button, and a Free Rewards sign with a treasure chest and an arrow to follow. A line on the sign tells players to join Sabun Studios to unlock codes.

The in-game currency is Duit, Malay for money. You earn it by playing and spend it on spins for a class, called a KELAS, which you can keep in a class slot. Extra slots 3 to 5 are sold as game passes, and there is also a DUIT x2 pass. Classes show up as extra gear on the character.

What players are doing with it

The two videos are typical of how the game spreads. One is a playthrough titled "Malam sama OPAH Upin & Ipin di Roblox", whose description calls it the story of staying the night at your beloved grandmother Opah's house in the Upin & Ipin home. The other, "OBIT TERJEBAK DI RUMAH OPAH UPIN DAN IPIN!", frames it as being trapped in that house and having to escape. Both are Indonesian-language, face-cam reaction videos, and both treat escaping as the goal.

Both videos were made by Indonesian creators, and the game text is mostly Malay, so most of the footage you will find is in those languages.

Numbers, developer and updates

At the time of writing the game has about 7.27 million visits and around 6,700 players online. It has been favorited about 294,000 times and carries roughly 1,637 likes against 285 dislikes, which works out to about 85 percent positive. The last update we saw was on November 2, 2026, a couple of weeks after launch.

The developer is listed as Sabun Studios, and the game description points players to its Roblox group for codes.

Codes and where to find them on this site

Codes are the main thing players ask about. The game description has a CODES heading with one line about Settings, 3 normal spins and 500 Duit, but we have not been able to confirm whether that is a code you type or just a pointer to where codes go. Nothing is verified yet, so we list no working codes.
